Our long time member Karen Colini will be sharing her family flower farm with us and educating us on Dahlias. We will start with a tour promptly at 5:30 to use the last bit of daylight. Potluck dinner and Dahlias 101 to follow. Karen will help us learn to understand the sizes, shapes and identification codes of dahlias.
After looking at the flowers growing in the field we will bring some inside to classify them using the American Dahlia Society’s guidelines.
This is Karen’s 10th season growing dahlias as a hobby, and her first year of trying to sell them as a cut flower. Thanks to Connie Modrak for graciously offering to hostess our meeting.
