About the Event
Join Gene Sigel, viticulturist at Debonne vineyards, for a one hour presentation detailing the process of establishing a vineyard—home or commercial—in the Grand River Valley. He has also opened the Red Eagle Distillery and right next door to it The Black Door Tavern. Topics include site selection, soil and air management, winter injury, planting, soil preparation, basic surveying and vineyard layout, variety selection, as well as a checklist of vineyard goals to help establish the novice grower with a successful foundation. Questions welcomed impromptu or submitted in advance.
