Even without leaves, many trees are recognizable during the winter months. Test your skills and learn the distinguishing characteristics for identification in the dormant season through twig and branching patterns, growth habits, and more.
We will be walking outdoors for the entirety of this course, so dress accordingly. Meet at the Holden Shelter House in the picnic area.
After the hike, members and guests will head over to Biga for authentic, wood-fired pizza. Check out their menu for other delicious lunch options. Biga is located at 9145 Chillicothe Road in Kirtland.
The tour will be led by Toby Davidson, horticulturist at The Holden Arboretum and husband of DesNet member, Megan Davidson.
